Designing a Central Hub for E-Commerce Operations: A Case Study.
Background
Athani Artisans, known for their handcrafted leather footwear, needed a web-based admin platform to centralize and streamline their business operations. The admin panel serves as a central hub where administrators and business owners can track sales, manage inventory, monitor revenue, oversee customer relations, and respond to user comments. Additionally, it integrates seamlessly with both their mobile app and website, ensuring that any product updates are reflected across all platforms.

I led this project as the product designer, Journey from initial exploration to final implementation, which included Understanding the brief, conducting research, ideating, designing and prototyping. Throughout, I maintained close collaboration with the CEO and partnered closely with engineers.
Problem
Athani Artisans struggled with fragmented tools for managing sales, inventory, and customer interactions, leading to inefficiencies and inconsistent updates across platforms. They needed a centralized system to streamline business operations and improve decision-making.
Solution
I created an intuitive admin panel that brings all aspects of sales tracking, inventory management, and customer relations into one easy-to-use platform. This centralized system not only provides real-time updates but also integrates smoothly with the mobile app and website, empowering the team to work more efficiently and make informed decisions with confidence.
Target Audience
The admin panel is designed for internal use by Athani Artisans' administrators and business owners. Its intuitive interface ensures that even non-technical users can efficiently manage various aspects of the business, including inventory updates, sales tracking, and customer interaction.
Design Process
The design process began by mapping out a comprehensive information architecture, ensuring that all business operations, from sales to customer management, were easily accessible. Key user flows were created to define how users would navigate between tasks, such as tracking new orders or updating inventory. Wireframes helped visualize the structure, which was refined into high-fidelity UI designs that focused on clarity, ease of use, and functional efficiency.

In the high-fidelity phase, I focused on refining the user interface by adding detailed visuals, typography, colors, and iconography. The design emphasized ease of use and clean visuals, aligning with Athani Artisans’ artisanal and ethnic brand identity. Features like search filters and wishlist functionality were integrated seamlessly.
How did the product perform?
Unfortunately, the product is still under development so I will have to wait for it to go live.

Designing the admin panel for Athani Artisans has been a rewarding experience, providing valuable insights into the creation of systems that streamline complex operations. By focusing on usability and the specific needs of the business, I was able to create a platform that enhances day-to-day operations and empowers the team to make informed decisions through data and performance tracking.
